We collect the minimum needed to run TraceDev: your account email, your learning progress, and basic usage analytics. We don’t sell your data. You can export or delete your account at any time.

This Privacy Policy describes how TraceDev (“we”, “us”, or “the Service”) collects, uses, and shares information about you when you use our website, applications, and related services. By using TraceDev, you agree to the practices described here.

We collect information in a few different ways depending on how you interact with the Service.

Information you provide

  • Account information: the email address you use to sign in via magic link or an OAuth provider (Google or GitHub).
  • Profile details: an optional display name and avatar.
  • Learning activity: lessons completed, problems attempted, and whether a solution was reached unaided.

Information collected automatically

  • Usage data: pages visited, features used, and session duration.
  • Device data: browser type, operating system, and approximate region derived from your IP address.

We use the information we collect to operate, maintain, and improve TraceDev. Specifically, we use it to:

  • Save your progress and personalize your learning path.
  • Power the AI tutor and measure the quality of its responses.

Cookies & tracking

We use a small number of cookies and similar technologies to keep you signed in and to understand how the Service is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling them may affect functionality.

Sharing & disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers who help us operate TraceDev, such as cloud hosting, email delivery, and analytics, and only to the extent necessary for them to perform their work.

We may also disclose information if required by law, to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the Service, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets.

Data retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. When you delete your account, we remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or accounting purposes.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete the personal information we hold about you. You can exercise most of these directly from your account settings, or by contacting us at support@tracedev.io.

  • Access & portability: request a copy of your data in a machine-readable format.
  • Correction: update inaccurate information.
  • Deletion: permanently remove your account and associated data.

Children’s privacy

TraceDev is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we’ll notify you by email or through the Service. The “Last updated” date at the top of this page always reflects the current version.
